SEO: How To Setup Different IP's And Is it Legal?
Written by General Seo on Mar 5th, 2011 | Filed under: Link Building
I know how to setup a different IP address per website. However, how do I go about setting up a different IP address when link building? Also, it is legal do go about this? Would I get in trouble if caught? How can I not get caught? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It’s not illegal. The only way to set up differnet IP addresses is with different domains – each domain has a unique IP address. Chances are though, is you use the same web host (same IP pool), the search engines would view it as a web-ring, which would make it worthless. Incoming links also don’t have much weight if they’re from a) domains that are less than 6 months old b) domains with the same or lower PR or c) domains/websites that are unrelated in content.
You would have better luck finding forums that are similar in content to the site you’re trying to build up and posting in them, using your URL in the signature (assuming the forum uses "dofollow").
Hope that helps,
Jason
