Is it essential to have website to earn money on google adsense?

I want to work for google adsense. please let me know how authentic it is and do people really earn good sum from it?
YES it is essential to have a website before applying to Google Adsense. Afterall, where will you put the ads if you have no website? Plus, Google will evaluate your site if it is acceptable, and they can only do that if they have something to review.
Your success with Adsense depends on the
- responsiveness of audience to the ads (users looking to book a travel to Spain comes to your site about tourist destinations in Spain then clicks on an ad about hotels in Spain)
- ad format used
- ad placement
- ad colors – sometimes ads blended into the content works wonders, but sometimes ads that contrast your site colors work best
- number of ad units on a page
- keywords shown on your site
- level of advertiser bidding on your site – e.g. keywords "diamond" is worth more than "squirrel games" because more advertisers are willing to spend money on those interested in diamonds
- your traffic levels – the more traffic you have, the better
- your CTR rate – the higher the better and this depends on the responsiveness of your audience to your ads, your ad placement, your ad colors
- smartpricing – the big unknown in Adsense
One website with the 10,000 uniques a day can earn $50 while another may earn $500. Your mileage varies.
The only way you can learn about how your site will perform with Adsense is through trying it. Suffice to say that some are doing extremely good with it and others do not. I am earning in 2 months with Adsense what I earn in a year as an economist.

No it is not important to have a website with Google’s blogger.com you can create your blog for free and place Google Ad sense ads on that with your blog on blogger.com with little good content Google will approve your ad sense account.
