how do i start affiliate marketing ?

I have been looking into this AWHILE. I know it is possible to make some income this way, the problem is the hundreds of programs that want 97$/month and promise to teach you everything to get your sites up and running, SEO’s , backlinks, article writing ectr. Ive found some that are free like reviewaroo. How do i know which one to use to train myself ? i certainly dont want to throw money away but also don’t want to waste my time on a "free" site with little or poor content..so i thought that I would ask here . Any advice ?

Dont waste your money on any programs. There are plenty of free sources of information out there. Forums and Blogs chock full of systems to make money on line. I do some affiliate marketing and its not as easy as people make out.
If you want to get started quickly, check out the Warrior forum. Lots of free info here which will get you started.
Another place that has great resources and info is the More Niche Affiliate program. There is free training and free websites/themes that you can use. They provide you with reviews and keyword research etc etc etc. It has a good forum as well which has plenty of people asking questions and lots of people helping each other out..
My advice is to stay away from get rich quick schemes as these rarely work. Avoid clickbank as well as most of these products are useless.
There are some softwares that are really useful, these include The Best Spinner, Article Marketing Robot and Scrapebox.
