How can I get the audio from a DVD on my iPod shuffle?

So I love exercise DVDs, but I’m no longer able to work out around a TV or laptop. I’d love to get the audio from my videos on my iPod shuffle so I can work out anywhere and still get the same results…but I’m kind of stuck on how to do so. Here’s what I need to do:
1. Save the DVD content to my computer (a Macbook Pro)
2. Convert the content to mp3 format
Anyone have any ideas? Oh, and to complicate matters, the DVD is pretty new so the file is saved in some funky format that prohibits me from simply duplicating the disc or moving it into iMovie.

You need a DVD decrypter and a file converter. You can do a search and find many. I do not recommend specific ones anymore.
