Does your site navigation count as "duplicate content" for SEO?

I’m in the process of designing a site with a fairly sophisticated spry navigation menu that should have the capability of getting a visitor to most pages of the site from any page they are viewing..the navigation menu will serve as a standard for any content I add to the site. Is this going to hurt me as far as SEO is concerned?

Navigation is not duplicate content unless its the only thing on the page an all pages has the same title. Google is smart, and know that the navigation part of a site will be the same on all pages.
When talking duplicate content you should look at the page as a whole. The navigation is only a small part.
The menu is a small portion of the SEO. it is one aspect of the big picture
