Can I have a list of reputable sarch engines that I can use to find topics and information for my college research papers? I CANNOT and WILL NOT use .com websites, even if the info listed there is true and reputable in itself. Examples of ones I CAN use are .edu,.gov, .net, etc. However, if the search engine is .com and it gives me the others, I can do that. Also, I have already tried Google, yahoo, and the most obvious ones out there.
Thank you everyone who answers!

Yahoo and Google are the two big search engines, but they both have auto complete pop downs when you type in your search and I hate that. Is it possible to change settings in my browser to stop this from happening? Failing that is there a reliable third search engine I could use?

I just think our answers would mean so much more if all the computer search engines would shut down. Is having insight to dogma more important than a search engine? Does the Holy Ghost inspiration provide answers that search engines can’t?

I recently built a website, but I don’t know how to go about getting it to come up in a search engine. I’ve looked it up on search engines ("how do I add my URL to a search engine"), but the only responses I’m coming up with are those that require a fee. Is it possible to get my site to be found by a search engine without paying a fee?

I have stopped contributing to a Yahoo group that I would otherwise contribute a lot to because it’s about a sensitive subject, and my email address contains my full name. Some of my posts to this group now appear in a Google search for my name. I realize there’s the option of of creating a new, anonymous email address solely for this discussion group, but is there a way to prevent Yahoo groups from being spidered by search engines?
