I'm looking for a simple link popularity checker?

Written by General Seo on Nov 5th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

I used to use Marketleap’s link popularity checker, but it no longer works. Does anybody have an alternative they’d recommend?

How the heck did Harry Reid win?

Written by General Seo on Nov 5th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

He was wildly unpopular and is a career politician. Also, he was politically linked to Nancy Pelosi, who’s popularity was probably the lowest of any politician.

Anyone suspect fraud?

How to do the popularity comparison on Google?

Written by General Seo on Nov 4th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

okay so a guy confessed to me?

Written by General Seo on Oct 29th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

i asked a question similar to this, but now that ppl are saying he’s shy, what should i do? i told him we should talk more at school ( i told him i didn’t know how i felt about him. here’s the link to the other question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Agjgvh3ECzKK.IKusuzok17sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20101026010626AAKuZxw

i’m an open and social person, but i’m kinda scared it’ll be awkward, now that i know he really does like me. any advice? thanks!

he’s a drummist in band in my city. they’re steadily getting famous (played so good at a coffee shop that they get free coffee now, have a recording studio, etc, so they’re pretty pro), so i thought i should talk to him about his band, but that’ll make it look like i just like him for popularity cuz he’s in a band, whcih is not true.

anyways, thanks :)
and he’s not COMPLETELY shy, like i’m in san jose right now ( like 800 miles north of my hometown) for a funeral, and i told him i was homesick and he said, "it’s cause you miss me. lol jk"

then we talked about him being awesome and i said, psh that’s a lie and he said, oh sorry you’re awesome too :D

:)
yeah, blackbeard pirate, you answered my previous question so i’m sure you know

but i get ur point :)

Art project ideas and comments?

Written by General Seo on Oct 11th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

Any comments on the drawing and title ideas for it are as always welcome. I am always trying to improve my skills. But my real quandary is below.

I do commissioned teen portrait drawings and sometimes the client doesn’t pay me. I ask for half upfront and half at the end. So I have these spare drawings laying about that need to be put to use. I included a link to an example so you can see my style and what I have lying about. At the moment I have about 4 just sitting at home. I will have more I’m sure.

http://www.pjdancing.com/COM/PO.jpg

The idea of the shredded pinup look is my comment of the temporary moment that is youth and maybe even fame and popularity. I let the subjects chose from their own pictures usually Myspace because that is, they say, how they see themselves. And I want it to be how they see themselves not how their parents see them. So that is another aspect to it.

So I was wondering what would be a good way to use these images in some sort of an art project/show. That maybe would make a larger comment on something in society. I don’t know. I love the work and the pieces so I hate to just have them louse about. Thanks.

Do most people hold economic views best suited to a primitive society?

Written by General Seo on Oct 8th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

http://mises.org/daily/4700

The article I linked to uses evolutionary psychology to explain the widespread economic ignorance in our present society.

Doesn’t it seem like the economic views that people hold before they learn how the economy actually works are based on what was best suited to a primitive hunter-gatherer society (consider that people who are ignorant of economics do not have a random bias, but rather tend to have the same false economic views)? In such a society, the amount of wealth truly was static and economics was truly a zero-sum game. Exchanges in that society were reciprocal and were not market exchanges.

Income inequality in a primitive society impoverishes most of the people. Thus, people have evolved a dislike of the wealthy.

The fact that exchanges were reciprocal explains why many people believe that things have an objective value. Thus, they hate middlemen and oppose a free market in anything relating to the poor.

People also have a bias toward intentions rather than results, toward smaller producers rather than big, faceless, corporations, and against foreigners. These made sense in a primitive society, but in the modern world, they are all disastrous (especially the anti-foreign bias, which manifests itself in the popularity of protectionism, immigration restrictions, and warmongering).

Because of our bias toward individuals, people fall victim to the fallacy of what is seen and what is not seen (that is, they ignore the economic harm caused by, for example, bailing out inefficient farmers, while seeing the benefits). We also have a bias towards loss aversion (to place more weight on losses than gains), which makes people oppose a drop in nominal wages even if their real wages are increasing (which is why we ended up with inflation rather than deflation starting around the turn of the 20th century) and why special interest groups make it so much more difficult to repeal bad legislation than it is to pass bad legislation in the first place.

Obviously, since there are people who understand economics, that shows that these biases can be overcome. We aren’t doomed to be victims of economic fallacies. Can we overcome our evolved misunderstandings of economics by recognizing the importance of persistent economic education for every new generation (just as we educate every new generation in reading, writing, and math)?

Is chapter 2 of my story good ?

Written by General Seo on Oct 4th, 2010 | Filed under: Link Popularity

i posted chapter 1 yesterday , id really like opinions about chapter 2. if u didnt read chp 1. heres a link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjF4ypQQsCTSF4Cq0OAnybMazKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20100820194314AACkZ3o
but here is chapter 2.
Chapter 2.
It was around 8 o’clock , so Anthony decided to call Kaylee. He dialed her number: 1 ring…2 rings…3 rings…4 rings…5 rings…6 rin-
“Hello?” a familiar voice said: Kaylee.
“Hey.” Anthony said, sounding polite.
“Ugh. What do you want?”
“Just listen, ok?”
“FINE!!” Kaylee answered with complete and total distaste.
“Sophia & Natasha really don’t wanna talk about the reasons they don’t like Chloe, and the least you could do is drop it.” Anthony said quickly, as not to be interrupted.
“Why should I? They’re my friends, they are supposed to tell me everything!!”
“Bye.” said Anthony and he hung up.
He then decided he needed to call Natasha and Sophie. He called and told his friends what happened, Natasha finally had had enough of Kaylee’s attitude and decided to call her herself,
“Kaylee, I’ve had enough of your drama. Either drop it or we can’t be your friends anymore.” When Kaylee heard that she thought,
I’ll loose my two friends and any chance of popularity I’ve got. So she said, “Ok I’ll drop it.”
“Thanks I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Byes!” Natasha said excitedly, and as she hung up, she could hear Sophia in the background sing We Are the World. My favorite.
The next day in Kaylee’s 1st period. The unbelievable happened: Chloe sat beside of Kaylee… and actually talked to her,
“Hey, it’s Kaylee right ?” asked Chloe.
“Yeah…”
“So I know we have never talked much but I was wondering if you’d like to sit with me and some of my other friends at lunch?”
“Sure.” Kaylee said with a smile on her face.
“Speck-tack-ula!! See you then!”
OMG!!! One of the most popular girls in school wants me to sit with her at lunch…!

On her way to 2nd period, Kaylee bumped into Natasha and Sophie in the hall and said she was sitting with a new friend at lunch. The girls thought that was fine and they were glad she was making new friends.
During their second period they couldn’t help but wonder who her new friend was. The girls pushed the thoughts away when the science class started. They began copying notes from the board and from their book. After about thirty minutes of not complete silence,
Mr. Blair said we could break into groups and work on the science puzzle packets.
“Ugh, I can’t figure out 5 across!” Natasha exclaimed quietly.
“I know what it is, it’s volcanic rock.” Sophie told her friend informatively.
“Thank ya, Soph.” Natasha said lovingly.
“Any time, Nat.”

Then the bell rang and the girls headed to lunch, since Kaylee was sitting with a new friend, it was just going to be Sophie, Natasha, and Anthony. They sat down and waited for their table to be called up. They got their food; Anthony was eating his favorite thing ever: hot dogs and tater-tots. While Sophie and Natsha had house salads with grilled chicken with ranch dressing.
“Where is Kaylee?” asked Anthony.
“She told us she was sitting with a new friend.” Sophie replied. Then Anthony saw Kaylee sitting with Chloe. He had a look of worry on his face.
“What’s wrong Anthony?” Natasha asked.
“Look over at Chloe’s table.” He replied.
“Why the heck would I wanna do that?” they asked simultaneously as they turned around to see what he wanted them to look at. “I can’t believe her!!” Sophie and Natasha exclaimed, both hurt. Soon Kaylee saw the mad and hurt looks on her friend’s faces, but she soon got caught up in on of Chloe’s stories.
The bell rang, Kaylee ran, for she didn’t wanna get fussed at by her friends. She had a great time sitting with Chloe and her friends, it felt great to be at the head table she had thought to her self when she had set down.
Maybe that’s where I belong. She smiled thinking of a popular life style. Then the worst thing that could have happened: she ran straight into Anthony at his locker.

Boththe slouch boot and ankle bootie were in last season I think but were fairly new so they’re back. If you absolutely had to pick just one, which one?

I think you can wear more stuff with the ankle booties though. Am I right? If I’m wrong school me! lol.
