We have to indentify the musical characteristics of the work that are relevent to the era that it was composed in, such as tonality, genre, form etc.

And we also need to Hypothesie why the work has remained popluar over time. We need to link our ideas with the musical characteristics, as well as explaining the exposure that the work has had to the public and the effect that exposure has had on its popularity.

I chose Clair De Lune by Debussy.

I have a group on Facebook which I created about a week ago, and it succeeded in the first few days with over 1,000 members joining, but for the last 3 days not many new members have joined and the average rate now is about 20 a day which isn’t very amazing lol. I am asking for some sort of advice on how to grasp people’s attention of this group again. I convinced a few of my friends to actually invite their friends, so inviting wouldn’t be an option anymore. Although, someone on here who uses Facebook could support the group and help grow its popularity by inviting your own friends. There is a JavaScript trick on the profile which enables people to select all friends without clicking individually, so that saves time.

Thanks to whoever invited their friends, you should also try to tell your friends to invite their friends as well! I just want to make this group as good as possible, because it’s true that everyone couldn’t sleep on Xmas eve – I never could anyway.

I share herewith some interesting observations offered by my colleague Ken Walsh. Even though recent public opinion polls show the president’s popularity at 60 percent or above, America’s confidence in his ability to meet the challenges of his time is thinning.

President Obama is heading into stormy waters. His healthcare plans have stalled on Capitol Hill; he is being faulted for a shaky response to the post-election violence in Iran; his job-approval ratings are dropping; and confidence in his handling of the economy is ebbing. The warning signs are enough to worry Democratic strategists that Obama may be sinking into a trough that will sap his influence just when he needs it most.

To this I say, it’s about time that the public and the media catch up with what this president is all about: re-election. As I’ve blogged mightily since he first "caught on" as a presidential candidate, this is a smart, capable man who is not ready for prime time. He’s made mistake after mistake, starting with spending way too much on his stimulus package, trying to please everybody on all sides of every issue and in the process pleasing no one, and getting too cozy with U.S. foes such as Iran’s Ahmadinejad.

The best thing the Obama administration has going for it is the GOP is in even worse shape. History will prove me correct that being anti-Bush is not enough to make a great president. His promises of change have proven vacuous and his ability to lead has disappointed on most fronts.

Here is how it would work…
We choose an irc or messenger service and allow anyone in who wishes to watch. We each allow someone we trust to alternate questions pertaining to both candidates views and history of different political matters that they have been in support or have not supported and voted against.
12 questions that we both respond to in a timed format. 6 questions from your person and 6 from mine.

I have always supported the voting age to be bumped up to 25 because I feel that America’s youth vote based on popularity and not because they are smarter and know the facts as so many have claimed here. There will be no judging or scoring. We will just allow the people who participated to judge for themselves who knows more about this election and who is just voting because they think they know it all.

droobey it doesn’t matter who I am. I am joe voter…A guy who is over 30 and under 70 who supports John McCain. Yes actually I am trying to out smart young democrats because for months all I have heard is how smart and informed they are.
