I’m looking to gauge the popularity of those game series. PSU is on the Xbox360 (was on PS2 & PC but servers have been retired)
PSO is from the Gamecube, Dreamcast, and PC.
.hack//G.U. is exclusive to PS2. There is a spinoff game called .hack//LINK for the PSP (Japan, coming soon to U.S.)

So what do you think of them? I know there are fans on YA who play these types of games.

Right when Napster was released and MP3s were gaining massive popularity about 11 years ago I came across a series of Space-techno like MP3s and I have not been able to figure out the names of the songs or who they are by.

I read a story today (linked from Appellation Mountain) about a couple who used a mathematical algorithm to arrive at their son’s name. The wife wanted something that wasn’t too strange; the husband wanted something that wasn’t too common. The husband also happened to be an engineer, so he wrote a mathematical formula that would compare popularity fluctuations for boys’ names and find the perfect one. From the list generated by the formula, the parents picked Grant. Neither of them loved it, but it was one both could tolerate.

That got me thinking about what boys’ name most perfectly meets all my criteria. I think I too have found a "mathematically perfect" name that satisfies all mine and my husband’s criteria. The problem? I don’t really love it, either.

My criteria are as follows:
– not in SSA top 200
– not making huge leaps in popularity
– a name almost everyone has heard
– one clear spelling and pronunciation
– linked to biblical character or famous historical Christian
– sounds British, Victorian, or literary
– 2 or 3 syllables
– can sound equally at home on European royalty or an 18th century American farm boy
– does not start with G or J

So here are my questions:

1. What are your specific or quantifiable preferences for baby names? Make a list like mine. (For example, "I have to love it" is not specific and quantifiable. However, "It can’t be in the top 100" or "It has to be linked to British literature" would both count as specific and quantifiable.)

2. Now take a step back from the names you know you like. Try to forget about them. Objectively speaking, what name do you think best fits all the criteria you listed?

3. How do you feel about the name you chose objectively? Do you love it or are you indifferent to it?

Bonus Question: Can you guess the baby name that would be "mathematically perfect" for me?

First off, what are they thinking here? Shouldn’t they be doing their research or job and not looking for Marijuana! Why did they stop in that site. Maybe because it’s one of the first blogged sites of a co-op that sells the medical pot, but remember that pot all together is illegal in New York State, so what were they looking for?
